Academic Awards:

2000-2005: Departmental grant to pay my fees as a part-time research student, Department of European Studies and Modern Languages, University of Bath, Bath, England.

2001-2002: Holder of the highly competitive Entente Cordiale Scholarship to the Sorbonne, Paris, France as part of my research in Franco-Russian Studies at the Department of European Studies and Modern Languages, University of Bath, Bath, England. (This scholarship was established at the time of the 1995 Franco-British summit by Prime Minister John Major and President Jacques Chirac. It is is a prestigious bi-lateral awards scheme aimed at enabling the most outstanding students of both countries to study or carry out research for a year on the other side of the Channel).

2001-2007: BASEES Research and Development Committee grants to support my attendance (giving papers) at the annual BASEES conferences in Cambridge (2001-2003, 2005-2007) and at the VII ICCEES Congress in Berlin, 2005.

2006: Departmental grant to support my attendance (and give a paper) at the international symposium 'The Philosophy of A. P. Chekhov' in Irkutsk (Russia).

In mathematics:
1994-1995: Visiting Research Fellowship, Department of Mathematics, Melbourne University, Melbourne, Australia.
1996: The European Mathematical Society grant to support my attendance (and give a paper) at the international conference 'Group Theory, Finite to Infinite', Pisa (Italy).
